Official ceremony for the Nord Stream pipeline construction start
RÖDER provided the tent systems for the Nord Stream pipeline ceremony
The construction of the 1,224-kilometre Nord Stream pipeline through the Baltic Sea into the European Union has commenced and will connect Russian gas fields with the European network from 2012 onwards. Nord Stream AG celebrated this momentous event with its shareholders and selected guests from the European Union and Russia. The ceremony took place on April 9 in Portovaya Bay in Russia, with the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger and former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder present.
RÖDER covered the event with a 30-metre 12-corner tent, a 25-metre 10-corner tent, four 20-metre 8-corner tents and several party tents with a total floor area of around 2,500 m².
The project demanded the utmost from the various tent, fittings and equipment teams as the area to be covered was directly within the still unleveled construction site. Nevertheless, the project was completed in just 7 days.
